5. CITY OF LIEGE > Urban transformation Regeneration.

The city of Liège, the economic and tourist capital of the Walloon Region, is developing an ambitious urban regeneration and economic redeployment plan (650 ha).

Within the housing sector, this includes:

  • 126 ha in the short term;
  • 172 ha in the mid term;
  • 92 ha in the long term;
  • 260 ha allocated for business parks and industrial zones.

To make these different developments possible, Liège is setting up public/private partnerships and inviting projects from private developers.

A large-scale project is currently receiving specific backing from the public authorities.
