8. CITY OF SERAING > Eriges

As part of the master plan for the Seraing valley (800 ha), the town of Seraing is working on the reorganization of the overall economic and urban fabric and the regeneration of industrial sites that will gradually become vacant and undergo decontamination (2008-2015).

The gateway to the town

7,500 m2 (Construction begins on March 2011): creation of a complex of apartments, shops & offices and of a public square (6000m2);

6,500 m2 (started construction): creation of a thermo-efficient building for the administration services;

16,000 m2 (land in control, decontamination in progress): regeneration of an industrial site for the development of economic activities, offices and shops and the creation of 1,500 parking places;

CMI Center (started construction): private investment (current permit).

The LD site

176,000 m2: For the setting up of economic activities alongside the urban Boulevard.

Features

Widening of streets and creation of an urban Boulevard;

Liège Science Park, 33 ha on the Seraing territory for highpotential economic activities;

Around the "Cristallerie du Val Saint Lambert", a leisure, retail, business and housing project covering a surface area of 110 ha (private investment of €170 million).
