The Cuesmes Héribus project

As a neighbourhood developer, MATEXI plans to create a new eco-district near the former Héribus mining site in Cuesmes, in the Mons region. The project aims to reconcile quality of life, respect for the environment, and openness towards the existing neighbourhood.

A 4-hectare green and blue framework will form the backbone of this future district, around which, in particular, pedestrian pathways will be organised.

No fewer than 1,000 trees will be planted on the site, directly contributing to the City of Mons Canopy Plan. The long-distance hiking trail (GR) crossing the site will be preserved and even enhanced, with relaxation and leisure areas accessible to all.

By 2039, this new neighbourhood will be home to approximately 400 dwellings.
