Imagining the Sustainable and Multimodal Walloon Cities of Tomorrow
Wallonia is firmly committed to shaping the city of tomorrow — urban spaces that are sustainable, connected, and focused on quality of life. By rethinking mobility, spatial planning, and energy management, the Region promotes harmonious urban development that respects the environment and adapts to new ways of living.
A Sustainable Urban Vision
The Walloon cities of the future are designed to minimize their environmental footprint and make the most of local resources.
Energy-efficient building renovation, the redevelopment of industrial sites, the creation of green spaces, and the circular management of resources are all part of this vision. These initiatives strengthen the region’s appeal while enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Connected and Multimodal Territories
Mobility lies at the heart of this transformation. Wallonia embraces a multimodal approach that combines public transport, active mobility, and shared solutions to offer sustainable alternatives to private car use.
Through better interconnection of infrastructures — train stations, mobility hubs, park-and-ride facilities — Walloon cities are becoming more accessible, smoother to navigate, and more resilient.
An Invitation to Invest in the Future
This transformation opens new real estate opportunities: high-performance residential projects, eco-friendly business zones, transport infrastructures, and mixed-use neighborhoods that blend living, working, and leisure spaces.
Investing in Wallonia means taking part in building a sustainable, innovative, and people-centered urban future.

Settle in the heart of Europe!
Wallonia is a hospitable, efficient region with its sights set on the future and its arms open wide to welcome you!Set at the heart of Europe and a market of 500 million consumers, Wallonia is an area where businesses can settle and develop in favourable conditions.
It is a place of innovation and competitiveness, where men and women can make the most of their talents, use their know-how and thrive in their work.
It is also an attractive and competitive region where businesses benefit from an intelligent tax system and a wide range of financial, social and environmental aids. Finally, Wallonia is undeniably a welcoming region, where hospitality, culture and tradition blend harmoniously together.

Real estate: one of Wallonia's assets
Wallonia has a particularly broad range to offer in terms of land, as well as semi-industrial and/or office buildings. In addition AWEX, the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency, has a major network of contacts in the real-estate sector and will help you find infrastructure especially adapted to your activity.

The business parks
Together with eight intermunicipal economic development agencies, Wallonia runs 282 business parks, including seven science parks, six logistics sites and 11 multimodal infrastructures, covering a total surface area of 13,318 ha*.

The Science Parks of Wallonia network
Wallonia’s seven science parks form a network to promote reception and support facilities for technology businesses in the region together. They provide the keys to boost economic and technological growth for innovative projects: a concentration of technology players (businesses, research centres, universities), infrastructure and services adapted to meet the needs of these players.

Relay buildings and business centres
The relay buildings are intended to welcome businesses on a temporary basis by providing premises under attractive conditions, with or without shared services and equipment (telephone, photocopier, meeting room, secretariat, internet, reception, furniture, etc.).
This formula enables young companies to determine their future development and their real needs before deciding to invest in their own infrastructure.
The business centres provide the ideal launch base for business people looking for instant access to equipped offices and meeting rooms, an address for their registered office or place of business, telephone answering service, total secretariat services, office logistics, fax, photocopiers, printers, scanners and more.
