Accelerating the transition to local, sustainable, healthy food accessible to all: this is the leitmotiv of the FOOD-C dynamic.

Today, we have a real opportunity to support local players and attract new ones, by structuring a genuine agri-food cluster that generates sustainable added value. As public players, our role is to federate and coordinate the galaxy of local, provincial and regional initiatives and players around concrete, structuring projects for the region. 

To support this dynamic, IGRETEC will develop specific infrastructures: 
As part of the European recovery plan, the Walloon government has awarded a grant to IGRETEC. The mission is to build and operate a 2,400 m² logistics building to serve the short food supply chain. The food and logistical HUB will become a tool at the service of producers and social economy players in the Charleroi Metropolitan area. Its key features will be the pooling of efforts in food processing, marketing and logistics. The permit application was submitted on May 2, 2023, for commissioning in the first half of 2025.
