Madou:

New construction of mixed housing: 38 units over 7 floors and 2 levels of underground parking.
The long plot is divided into two seven-story buildings surrounding a big garden. The access to the building is provided from both sides of the plot via two entrances leading to a shared lobby. The project offers a variety of typology, all with double orientation between the street and the garden, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Each apartment has an outdoor space (terrace or a garden). A central technical strip contains kitchen and bathrooms, releasing the border for spacious rooms along the façades.
The façade is organized with a two-level base, echoing the system of the neighbouring buildings and creating urban coherence with the street. This base, as well as the penthouses, is clad in prefabricated fiber cement panels, while the other levels are finished in stone-coloured brick to maintain harmony with the surroundings.
The main challenge is to carefully manage the transition with adjacent buildings and integrate the project smoothly into the skyline.
